Real Life: I’m a CrossFitter – Israel Temple

        My name is Israel Temple and I started CrossFit in December of 2015. I am 41 years old and have tried a lot of exercise programs. I have been an athlete all my life and that has taken a toll on my body. I have had four knee surgeries, two shoulder surgeries and back surgery. So when I watched the 2014 CrossFit Games, I thought, Wow! I would have loved to try that when I was young and in shape. So when some friends of mine had heard of a CrossFit gym opening near me, I was intrigued. But, I was still thinking, I’m 41 and the things these guys are doing are unattainable. Then one of those friends joined and told me it was life changing and very doable. I was ready. Two other friends asked me to join with my daughter and away we went. One concern I had was it’s a little pricey. I don’t like to spend money. I was told to give up a few things I didn’t really need to spend money on and I did. You will be surprised what you will give up to support this life changing habit. To make this short and sweet, I have changed my body, my mind, my level of happiness and the way I live. CrossFit is not just a workout. It is a family of like minded people who love a challenge. They care as much about your success, as they do about their own. How can people from 55 to 18 years of age get along so well? It’s a place where egos must be left at the door or it will be quickly crushed. CrossFit Enapay is my home away from home. I believe I am getting close to being in the best shape of my life. I am doing things I thought this body was incapable of doing. I am not getting older, I’m getting better. Are all of my aches and pains gone? No, but the strength and stability around those joints is so much greater. My flexibility needs work, but has improved as well. So you think CrossFit is not for you? If you do not want to get fit, find a new level of happiness and gain some unbelievable friendships, you’re right it’s not. For me, I love this life!

Real Life: I’m a CrossFitter – Victoria Carver

A year ago, I was probably at my unhealthiest state. You get to a point when it’s time to change your life for the better, or slowly kill yourself. I made the better choice, to change my life. I didn’t know it at the time but the change came from CrossFit. CrossFit has changed my life in more ways than I can count, but for some examples, I will list a few. Everyday you wake up and most days it feels like your life is on repeat, but with CrossFit you get that unknowingness, something new to be excited about.  Sometimes you go into class with uncertainty, but you always come out with something to be proud of. Whether you are going in to learn something new, work on form of something you do know, or just going in to better your score and get a new PR (personal record).  Whatever it may be, CrossFit always gives you a feeling of accomplishment.  It’s a feeling everyone should be able to experience. I started this journey with CrossFit to lose weight; to be honest it was my main goal. But with CrossFit, I eventually learned it’s about so much more then what you lose; it’s all about what you gain. On top of the strength, endurance, satisfaction, knowledge, etc., you gain unbelievable friendships; the support is never ending; the love is overflowing.  The people I surround myself with through CrossFit have made my life that much better.  I thank Crossfit and my wonderful coach for never letting me give up on my health. It’s a great feeling to have a healthy addiction that I truly enjoy. Without any of this I would have never received the best thing that’s ever happened to me; my pregnancy! Bettering my health has made possibilities endless.
